Former FSU football player Joe Ostaszewski is one of more than three-hundred players to make their way back in town for a banquet in honor of Boby Bowden. Bowden returns to Doak Campbell for the first time since retiring.
"I wouldn't miss this for the world. As soon as I knew Coach Bowden was coming back to Florida State University and they were honoring him, there is going to be over 300 players here tonight and each one of those players Coach Bowden has touched. Every player he has over the last 50 years and what Coach Bowden means to us, I'm doing what I'm doing and the things I've accomplished is because of Coach Bowden's tutelage and I had the honor to play for him and coach under him so what he's done for all the men he's coached it's an honor to be here and show gratitude for what he's done for college football and this university," Ostaszewski said.
Favorite Bowden memory?
Favorite Bowden memory, when I was a graduate assistant, and it's tough being a graduate assistant, you are at the bottom of the totem pole.and told Coach look I need to get out there in the real world and maybe come back to coaching and he said "you do that son, and you come back to coaching you have a job anytime you want to with me," so it was an honor for him to say that and it meant a lot," Ostaszewski said.
