Athens, GA - Georgia senior quarterback Aaron Murray has been named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after his team’s 44-41 win over #6 LSU, according to an announcement from the Walter Camp Football Foundation.

Murray has also been named the Athlon Sports National Player of the Week following Georgia’s third win of the year.

Murray is the eighth Georgia player to earn Player of the Week honors since 2004. He is the second UGA player to earn multiple honors joining three-time Player of the Week recipient former Bulldog Jarvis Jones.

TCU’s Sam Carter was named the National Defensive Player of the Week after posting five tackles, two interceptions (one that he returned 66 yards for a touchdown), one sack and a forced fumble in the win over SMU.

Murray, a native of Tampa, Fla., went 20-for-34 for 298 yards and four touchdowns while also adding a rushing score. He connected with Justin Scott-Wesley for a game-winning 25-yard touchdown at the 1:47 mark in the final quarter.

Picking up victories over two top-10 teams in the last three games, Murray moved into the No. 2 spot in school history for career passing yardage at 11,429 (former Bulldog David Greene holds the school and SEC records at 11,528). Murray now also has 11,659 yards of total offense, which is No. 2 in SEC history.

Sixth-ranked Georgia travels to Knoxville, Tenn., to take on Tennessee at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. CBS will televise Georgia’s game for the second week in a row.
