Quincy Police Department Release
Quincy, FL - In his latest hire and team acquisition QPD Police Chief Walt McNeil has selected former FSU wide receiver and All America and Biletnikoff Award Candidate Craphonso “Cro” Thorpe of Tallahassee to dawn to uniform of the Quincy Police Department. Thorpe recently retired from the NFL after playing for Kansas City, Houston, Detroit, Indianapolis and others.
Thorpe, who in his senior year at FSU caught 64 passes for 1,024 yards and 8 TDs will be trading in chasing touchdown passes for chasing bad guys. One thing is for sure; speed won’t be an issue. Thorpe is a former world class track and field star sprinter having run a 10.3 in the 100meters and 4.2 in the 40meter sprints.
According to Chief Walt McNeil “We’re excited to have a former FSU football player with a great work ethic on our team at the Quincy Police Dept. I look forward to Officer Thorpe displaying his leadership skills and traits as he transfers them into his new career in police work while serving the citizens of Quincy”.
Thorpe’s first full day on the job is today.
