TALLAHASSEE, Fl. ( – Florida State University senior Jessica Negron, who will lead the Seminoles into the NCAA West Regional Championship May 9-11 at the Stanford University Golf Course, has been named to the All-ACC Women’s Golf team in a vote by the league’s nine head coaches and announced by the ACC Office. It marks the first time in her career that she has earned All-ACC honors and is the school-record 13th consecutive season at least one Seminole player has earned All-ACC honors.

Negron (Ocala, Fla.) is the No. 6 ranked golfer in the ACC with a career-low 74.11 stroke average and has earned three top-10 finishes this year. She has been Florida State’s leading golfer in five of the Seminoles’ seven events this spring and finished in a career-best tied for third place at the Florida State Match-Up tournament in February.

“I am truly honored to be named to the All-ACC team,” said Negron. “Being named to the All-ACC team is something that I owe to my teammates; without their support each day in practice there is no way I could have earned this honor. It gives me a lot of confidence as we start play in the regional on Thursday.”

Negron carded her season low score of 69 in the third round of the Bryan National Collegiate in March and has earned three top-10 finishes this season.

Negron joins Florida State head coach Amy Bond as one of 21 All-ACC selections in school history. Bond earned All-ACC honors as a junior in 1998 and was named to the ACC’s 50th Anniversary team in 2002.

“Being named to the All-ACC team in this conference is an honor that I know Jess will cherish,” said Bond. “She has committed herself this spring to playing good golf and it is because of that hard work that she is able to earn this honor. We are all very proud and happy for Jess and are looking forward to playing well this week at the NCAA regional championships and giving ourselves an opportunity to play in the NCAA Championship Finals.”

The Seminoles have earned eight top 10 team finishes this year including a fourth place finish at the ACC Championships at the Sedgefield Country Club in April. The Seminoles finished in a team-best second place at the Florida Challenge in January and earned fourth place finishes at the Florida State Match-Up in February, fourth place at the Marsh Landing Invitational in April and closed out their regular season with its fourth place finish at the ACC Championships.
