VALDOSTA, Ga. – Valdosta State’s Josh Sparks brought home his second Gulf South Conference Player of the Week honor this season with Valdosta State’s first ever triple-double.
This week’s award marks his second in three weeks and the third honor of his career. Not only was his performance against Fort Valley State the first triple-double in school history, but it was also the first in the Gulf South Conference this season.
Sparks led VSU to its second victory over in-state, in-region rival Fort Valley State, 82-66. The native from Savannah, Ga., played just 34 minutes en route to 23 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocks.
His 10 blocks were also the highest total in the league this year and marked fourth best all-time for a single game in the conference.
