WCTV Catches Up With Florida High Football

By  |

WCTV continues to make its rounds to high school football practices this summer.

Next stop Florida High.

Head Coach Jarrod Hickman's team is getting done on the field the right way, with hard work.

They are athletic up front. Average height, 6', 4", weighing well over 1,300 pounds. That's a lot of beef up front folks.

"We know what we are doing from a scheme part. Been with each other 3 or 4 years, compliment each other if a guy inside runs a zip instead of zone then we know what to call," Florida High Offensive Lineman and South Alabama commit Garrett McGhin said.

"Mentality around here, next guy's opportunity, thats cycle of football. Graduate some players in next year, opportunty to have some guys step up, so far very good for us," Hickman said.

There are 15 seniors on the team and this group should be stingy on defense.

"We have a lot of younger players that are going to come in and help us on the defesnive side and we have a couple of upcoming seniors that is just as good as the seniors that left so I believe we will be pretty solid on defense again," Florida High Junior Safety and North Carolina commit Ronnie Harrison Jr. said.

Plenty of talent on Florida High. Besides verbal commitments from McGhin (South Alabama) and Harrison (North Carolina), Connor Jackson is committed to Furman.
