Seminoles Win FSU Invitational With Back-to-Back Shutouts

Posted: 03/09/2008 - TALLAHASSEE, FLA. - Florida State wins the 2008 FSU Invitational with a 3-0 win over Georgia State in the championship game. The Seminoles were undefeated over the weekend with the pitching staff throwing shut outs in all four games. The last time FSU won its own invitational was in 2004 when the ladies won all six games, with five shut outs and only one run allowed. That series is also the last time the Seminoles won four straight no-run games.

Florida State Blanks Maryland 16-0 In Game Two

Posted: 03/08/2008 - Tallahassee, Fla. – Game two of a doubleheader on Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium may have featured some cold temperatures Saturday evening but it was the Florida State (11-0, 2-0) bats that were on fire as the Seminoles blanked Maryland (5-6, 0-2) 16-0 in front of a crowd of 4,532. FSU pounded out 14 hits in game two reaching the double-digit hit plateau for the 11th straight game to start the season. The Seminoles have now won 32 straight games against the Terrapins.
