Tallahassee, FL - Reggie Davis can only picture what it will be like to don a Georgia Bulldog uniform right now. Once the 2012 high school football season ended for Lincoln, he emptied his locker for the final time. But the senior wide receiver will be switching to a new locker by mid-summer and tomorrow he'll make it official on National Signing Day.
"It's like a dream come true, you know?," Davis said. "Freshman year you don't think it's gonna come that fast but, then next thing you know you're standing on the stage and it's that time. It comes by fast but it's a dream come true."
Davis had 32 catches for 486 yards in his senior year. But those stats may be no bigger than the one tomorrow. He'll be catching a free college education.
"I'm just signing my life over to Georgia for four years, hopefully," he said.
Ten players are expected to sign at Lincoln. Dozens more from North Florida and South Georgia will be participating including 12 at Godby.
It's gonna be a good experience," said Khalid Thomas, who will sign with Kentucky. "A lot of guys I grew up with are signing. So, it just shows that everything that we put in is finally paying off."
Thomas and most of his teammates will be heading their separate ways. Luke Helms will be playing linebacker at FAMU.
"We've talked with our coaches some about some of the stuff that's going to take place tomorrow," Helms said. "But, most of all, most guys are pretty excited I guess to be taking the next step forward in life."
