Carson Sands will not be attending Florida State on a baseball scholarship. Instead, signed a pro contract with the Chicago Cubs.
"It's different, life changing, I'm an adult now so I have to be smart with everything and I'm on my own now so just part of growing up and go out there and have fun its a job work hard and get better," Sands said,
Sands signed for $1.1 million, but with a big paycheck comes a big responsibility. He's ready to go to work and excited to be a Cub.
"Hasn't really hit me yet but I'm looking forward to it and just be smart with it and I'll start here in rookie ball and they are kind of play it by ear and if I do really well I'll probably get moved up to Boise which is low A ball, short season so we will see. I hope to go out and do really good and show well," Sands said.
