Tallahassee, FL -- NFC is one win shy of getting back to the state championship.
"Our seniors have had this goal in mind ever since may so I think our mindset is great, our kids are focused, they're in tuned to what's going on," says head coach Robert Craft. "They know it's one game at a time."
The state semifinals are the deepest the Eagles have flown into the playoffs since the 2008 season, the last year NFC won a state title.
"We've played outstanding, from week one," adds senior defensive back Travis Blanks. "That's one reason why we're undefeated because we've played with the same intensity every week."
The Eagles will have the luxury of playing at home on Friday night. Standing in their way is Warner Christian. A team that entering the ball game has won its last eight and have scored over 100 points in their two playoff wins.
Craft adds, "Warner Christian has an incredible amount of playoff experience. Their seniors will be playing in their fifteenth game so there's a lot to be said for that. We respect them a lot for what they have and we know it's going to be a dog fight."
Blanks adds, "We're just going to play our game. One of the things coach Craft does it we don't even watch game film on other teams. All we do is worry about ourselves.
That mindset has led NFC to a (12-0) record and the top ranking in class 2A.
