Tallahassee, FL - The FAMU High girls basketball team is always reminded of last year's success. It's hard to forget it. Two banners and a picture adorn the walls above the gym.
But they're also reminded that this isn't last season anymore.
"We've been playing good, but when we get down the road, we're going to get into a lot of competition," said Jazmine Jones, a freshman guard whose played on varsity since she was in 7th grade.
When the Baby Rattlers won the State Title last year, they had two seniors. This season, they have six and midway through the season they are 11-0. They've now won 22 straight dating back to last season.
"We're all hungry and we all know how it feels," senior guard Aaliyah Barrington said. "Last year we won State by two points. So this year we want to win it by more."
The way they're preparing to do that is no different than how they've done it in the past.
"Practicing. We practice like everyday we can," junior forward Charrise Leon said. "And we like to practice. That's what we do."
"Just like we win games, we can lose one," Barrignton said. "So we have to play smart, play hard, don't take anything for granted."
If they every get what winning one is like, all they have to do is look up at that picture on the wall.
