It wasn't expected for the Baby Rattlers to come this far.
FAMU DRA freshman center Lakaris Salter says,
"Many people told us we weren't going to make it, now that we're making it we're very excited, we're very enthusiastic and we're ready to go there and win championships."
FAMU DRS girl's head basketball coach Ahmad Aliyy adds,
"We have a very young team. This group has never basically never won a district or a regional let alone go to states so this is a young group of players that we have here."
Wednesday in Lakeland the Orange and Green will play in its second final four in the last three years.
FAMU DRS 7th grade guard Jazmine Jones adds,
"We're excited to go to the final four, and some of us haven't been, some of us have been."
In 2009 FAMU played for the 1A title, but lost to Lake Worth Christian.
"Some of us have experience of going to Lakeland, some of us don't but it's a good opportunity for us to learn."
In order to get back to the state title game they'll have to go through Hollywood Christian Academy, who in three playoff games has only allowed 34 points.
Coach Aliyy adds,
"We're playing against the team that is the top team in 1A. Not only in 1A, but I think they're the fifth best team in the state of Florida, regards to class. They've been there before, they're experienced. What we're trying to emphasize to our girls is number one, stay to our game plan, play the way we've been playing, we'll make adjustments, and stay focused."
Tip off is at 11:30 from the Lakeland Center.
