Tallahassee, Fl -- For the first time in over a decade, the Florida High Lady 'Noles are heading to the final four.
"It's been really exciting and I'm not going to lie, I've been really nervous," says Taylor Rossman.
Chandler Seay adds, "We're really excited. I don't really know how to describe it."
"We have six seniors on this team so it's really exciting for all of us because now we get the chance to play in the final four," adds Caitlyn Coffey.
Something that this group have work so hard for. Every year they made the state playoffs but never advanced this far. Florida High advanced to the state semifinals by beating Bolles 3-2 in the region finals.
"it was great to be able to beat them and go down to the final four," says head coach Scott Rossman.
No love loss between the Seminoles and Bulldogs. Bolles eliminated Florida High from state competition each of the last three years.
Caitly Coffey adds, "It has been a pain having to play them everytime and then losing so I'm glad we got to play them again because we got to beat them this time."
Chandler Seay adds, "We wouldn't feel that going to states would be right if we didn't have to beat Bolles first."
Now that's done with, next up is Gulliver Prep, the defening state champs, but for this group of girls their greatest assets aren't hitting for power, dominate pitching or solid defense, it's the bond they share on the diamond.
"A lot of us have been here for a long time," adds Chandler Seay. "We've been playing together since we were liek in eighth grade and all the way up and this is all we've ever wanted."
The next step comes Wednesday at 5:00pm.
