Godby Hires Lanter As New Head Football Coach

Todd Lanter will be leading the Godby Cougar football team for the upcoming season.

Lanter joins Godby from Lincoln High School where he has served as the offensive coordinator since 2012. Lanter has 23 years of coaching experience under his belt which includes head coach at Wewahitchka High School from 2005-2012, assistant head coach from 2000-2005 at Godby High School and assistant coach at Wakulla High School from 1991-2000.

Lanter is very familiar with Godby’s program having spent 6 seasons as an assistant under Shelton Crews.

He is also very familiar with Godby’s returning athletes having coached his entire career in the Big Bend Area.

Lanter will replace Ronnie Cottrell who retired from the Leon County School system in late April. Lanter will assume head coaching duties immediately.
