Tallahassee, FL -- For the first time since 1998, the Godby Cougars are heading to the state semifinals.
"It's very hard to get to the final four,"says Andy Colville, Godby head coach. "I'm just so happy for my guys. I love them so much and just so happy that they're going to get the opportunity to play for a state championship."
"We just want to go down and make our mark in Lakeland. Prove to everybody that we're a phenomenal team," adds senior Brandon Holifield.
They've already proven that they're the best team in the city. Godby is (30-2) with its only two loses coming against Summit Christian and Chipley.
"We stay humble," adds senior Alex Andrews. "We don't really think we're too much better than people think. We already respect people and he (Coach Colville) says, fear nobody but respect everybody."
Coleville adds, "We were (23-6) last year, we lost the last two games. We were on a mission this year to try and get to Lakeland."
Now that they're heading there, Lake Highland Prep is next on the schedule.
Colville adds, "They're ranked number one, we're ranked number two. We're going there to try and w in."
Holifield adds, "We're just going to go in and play our game and hopefully come out victorious."
Tip-off is Wednesday at six at the Lakeland Center.
