The peak of high school basketball season is in the air. With the regular season and districts out of the way... its do or die time for high schools around the big bend.
"Now its continuing to do what go us here, and just tightening up loose ends." says Eugene Granger, FAMU DRS Head Basketball Coach.
"We want the same success as we had last year. Everyone is working hard, and we are playing together." adds Rickards Senior Dewayne Cunningham.
"We've been working hard all season, and we feel like we are the best team in 1-A basketball right now."
For the Rickards Raiders the road to the state championship is one they remember well.. but will also take a lot of work
Rickards Senior Jakari Bush adds, "All of us want a repeat and win the state championship again."
"It's going to be harder, every team is going to play their best against us. Just have to go out and get the win." adds Senior Desmond Gibson.
"We got to beat that team to get to the next round so we have to focus on one game at a time... we win that game we go to the next round." says Senior Christopher Bryant.
The Baby rattlers of FAMU high has that same mindset...but playing in Thursday night's game has that extra bit of momentum.
"We have the opportunity with some of our guys returning from last season to beat the team that knocked us out last year." adds Granger.
"I'm ready to get revenge on Paxton, especially being a Senior, its my last year, I really want them bad."
