Orlando, FL (AP) - Jefferson County scored 40 second-half
points to knock off Chipley 47-13 in the Florida high school
football Class 1A championship game.
Jefferson County broke a 7-7 tie in the third quarter Friday
with a 13-yard touchdown run by Alphonso Footman and added three
more touchdowns in the next three minutes to turn a close game into
a 33-7 contest by the end of the third.
Lenorris Footman was 8-of-12 for 145 yards and two touchdowns.
He also rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown. Ladarian Smiley had
five catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns. He also added a
72-yard punt return for a score.
Ryan McIntyre had 109 rushing yards and a touchdown for Chipley,
while Kobe McCary added 80 yards and a score.
