Friday night saw another Spring football jamboree at Gene Cox Stadium. Lincoln, Leon and East Gadsden High Schools all converged in the capital city for 3 spring scrimmages.
Game 1 saw the Leon Lions defeat the East Gadsden Jaguars 13-7 on a pair of touchdown connections from Tim Longmire to Jaren Colston-Green. East Gadsden marched down the field with less than a minute in regulation. Jaguars made it to the 20-yard line and Treveze Robinson's pass was broken up in the endzone to preserve a Leon victory.
Game 2 saw the East Gadsden Jaguars go up against the defending State Champion Lincoln Trojans. Derrington Abnar led a vicious ground attack while Taj Williams scored on special teams. Ronald Butler also added a touchdown toss to Joshua Gilmore. Trojans beat the Jaguars 34-0
Game 3 saw a nightcap matchup of the Lincoln Trojans and Leon Lions... Coach Yusuf Shakir and the Trojans outlasted Coach Bill Ragans and the Lions. 10-7 was your final from Gene Cox Stadium.
