Tallahassee, FL - The North Florida Volleyball Academy rounded out its year with the signing of 10 of its athletes to play volleyball in college. Three of those players will be on Division-1 rosters this upcoming season.
Although one has already enrolled at her college of choice and another moved to Tampa this past year, several players came by the academy to celebrate their achievements.
Many of the players present have been apart of the academy since freshman year of high school and owe a lot of their success to Coach Rita Crockett. Without volleyball, they're not sure where they would be.
"Volleyball is very important to me," said Dorian Corbett, a Florida High graduate and who signed with South Carolina State. "I don't know what I would do if couldn't play volleyball in college because that's the whole point of me going to college - not to only better my education but to continue playing the sport that I love."
"I first and foremost wanted to play volleyball in college...because I don't know what I wanted to do with the rest of my life," said Sarah Osterbye, also a Florida High graduate and who signed with Florida State College of Jacksonville. "So, volleyball's helped me make that decision."
This is the most that Crockett has ever sent to play at the next level.
Here's a list of players and what colleges they'll be playing for next season:
