Perry, FL -- Taylor County head football coach Shane Boggs has resigned his position with the Bulldogs. He has accepted a head coaching job at Tennessee High School.

Boggs accepted the position Monday night according to the Bristol Tennessee City Schools. The announcement comes one year after he led the Bulldogs to an (11-1) record and a district title.

Before coaching at Taylor County, Boggs was the head coach at Brookwood School in Thomasville, GA from 2003 through 2009. In 2007 he won a state title in Georgia and was a perfect (13-0) that season.

Who replaced Coach Boggs and is he going to maintain the team's structure as put in place by Boggs? Taylor seems to have a very difficult schedule this season in 4A. Will they survive?

Perry should go get Frankie Carrol, he is an outstanding coach, has great leadership and would only build on what shane has already done. I know coach carrol already has a coaching job in GA. but this job would be alot closer to home for him. Notice to the taylor co. school staff! If you want to keep a winning tradition and want your young men to have good values in life even after the game then FRANKIE CARROL is your man, dont let him get away! go do what it takes to get him.

shane did a great job in Taylor county. what he built was on an eternal foundation. The true test of leadership is not when you are there but when you leave. Time will tell that he left the program and community in good shape. God bless your next assignment shane and christa

Coach Boggs did a lot to turn this program around at Taylor County. He had high standards for his players and that makes a difference. I hope the next person follows in his steps. Coach Boggs like to win but he also made his players follow the rules and in the end that is what makes winners on and off the field. Good Luck Coach Boggs you will be missed.

I had never heard of Boggs, but from what I have read, he is a great young coach. We, at Tennessee High in Bristol, TN welcome him and look forward to him leading our team.
