It's one of the fastest growing high school sports in the state of Florida... and its all about the girls. Flag Football has been an official sport in high schools since 2003.

"It gets bigger and bigger every year, you know and if we can just get a few more counties to add it, it will just keep getting bigger." says Jeff Martin.

This growing enthusiasm inspired Godby's Head coach and Flag Football Coaches Association State Chairman Jeff Martin to bring the best of the best to the capital city.

" I want to put on the best tournament that's ever had in Florida, outside the state final 8, and everyone came a running."

and The 2011 Capital City Classic allowed for great exposure of talent from all around the sunshine state.

"We got he state finalist runner up, got the state semifinals, Apopka who is one of the winningest teams in the state, and then Leon who are two time state champions so its a very good tournament. "

Out of this year's eight teams, Tampa's Alonzo high school took home the gold, Leon took home the silver, and East Bay taking home the Bronze.
