Tallahassee, FL -- As the sun begins to rise over North Florida Christian, Travis Blanks is hard at work.
"At this point I'm used to it and I'm willing to put in the work necessary to take my team to a state championship," says Blanks.
Before his senior season begins he's already given his verbal commit to join the Clemson Tigers.
Travis adds, "I felt like I took the necessary steps needed to thoroughly analyze all my options and I felt like I made a great choice."
"He's a leader in the weight room, in the class room, on the field for us. Offense, defense, special teams, he kind of does it all," adds head football coach Robert Craft.
A normal summer day for Travis starts right here in the weight room bright and early, 6AM, where he world out for about two hours a day, four days a week before he hits the books for summer school. He plans on graduating from NFC in December so he can be with Clemson for spring practice.
Travis adds, "You have to sacrifice now for later and it's something I feel comfortable doing. I want to get up there and get a semester ahead of school and get a jump on the playbook too so come fall camp I'll be ready."
Craft adds, "He still feels like he has something to finish here. I think he wants this group of seniors, the class of 2012 and this football season to be remembered by something."
Hopefully winning NFC's seventh state championship.
