Championship equestrian rider Darren Chiacchia has confirmed that he will be attending the 2009 Red Hills Horse Trials as a competitor. Chiacchia will ride Better I Do It, his Pan-Am horse Windfall, and his new advanced horse Stoney Brook as well as a couple young ones.

Chiacchia has also been asked to say a few words at the annual sponsor dinner. The entire Chiacchia family will be in attendance when the trials kick off in Tallahassee March 13-15th.

Chiacchia returns to Tallahassee for the first time since he was injured last year. The Ocala native was critically injured when his horse fell on top of him less than a year ago. He spent weeks in a Tallahassee hospital, before being transferred to a Buffalo, New York rehab facility and is now back at home in Ocala.
