Former FSU Academic Advisor Still Plans to Sue FSU

Former academic advisor Brenda Monk and her attorneys have filed a notice of intent to sue Florida State for defamation in regards to the academic scandal.

Monk was put on leave in April '07 and resigned in July of that year.

Her attorney, Brant Hargrove of Tallahassee, told us today that the university has 180 days to respond to the intent notice ... which was received by the University on November 1st.

According to the letter, Monk is seeking 600-thousand dollars in damages.

The University can either agree to settle, agree to a lawsuit, or fail to respond which would be a denial, in which case Monk can sue the university.
