Valdosta, GA - Valdosta State Head Football Coach David Dean announced Wednesday that 36 high school student-athletes have signed a national letter-of-intent to join the Blazers next season. Additionally, Dean announced the addition of a junior college All-America honoree who has already enrolled with the school and will go through Spring practice with the Blazers beginning later in February.

Chris Anderson (5-8, 180, QB, Brunswick, Ga./Brunswick) – Directed the Pirates to an 8-4 record and a spot in the round of 16 of the GHSA AAAA state football championships in 2010 … Carried the ball 210 times for 1,066 yards and 12 touchdowns for head coach Victor Floyd … Completed 132-of-225 passing attempts for 1,953 yards and 12 touchdowns … Set the Brunswick High single season records for passing yards, total yards and completions while earning All-Region Offensive Player of the Year … Also led the Pirates to an 8-4 mark and a spot in the AAAA Sweet 16 in 2009.

Justin Bates (6-0, 240, OL, Alpharetta, Ga./Milton) – Earned second team All-Region and first team All-North Fulton honors while leading head coach Mike Scott's squad to a 3-7 record in 2010 … Tallied 48 knockdown blocks while grading out at 84% on the season … Led the Eagles to a 4-6 mark in 2009.

Deon Blankenship (6-0, 174, QB, Nahunta, Ga./Brantley County) – Directed head coach Mark Walker's team to a 4-6 record in 2010 while earning Region 2AA Offensive Player of the Year honors … Passed for 2,678 and 20 touchdowns while tossing only seven interceptions … Rushed for 107 yards and seven scores … Received honorable mention All-State accolades while being tabbed the Region 2AA Offensive Player of the Year in 2009 … Passed for 2,117 yards on the year while throwing 20 touchdowns against just four interceptions … Rushed for four scores.

Jack Bradley (6-2, 275, OL, Acworth, Ga./Blessed Trinity) – Helped head coach Ricky Turner's squad to a 6-4 record in 2010 … Graded out at 90 percent on the season while recording 35 pancake blocks … Was named honorable mention All-State also earning All-Region and All-North Fulton County honors … Led the Blazers to a 5-5 record in 2009.

Troy Braswell (5-7, 163, RB, Valdosta, Ga./Lowndes) – A two-year starter for head coach Randy McPherson and the Vikings … Scored a team-high 20 touchdowns in 2010, including 15 on the ground and four on receptions … Paced the squad with 1,064 yards on 155 carriers … Caught 11 passes for 181 yards … Also led the team with 16 touchdowns in 2009, including 12 on the ground and three receiving … Was second on the team with 902 rushing yards, on 87 attempts … Led the squad with 205 receiving yards while catching 12 passes.

Josh Bryant (6-2, 275, OL, Richmond Hill, Ga./Richmond Hill) – Played both offensive and defensive line for the Wildcats … Led head coach Lyman Guy's team to a 4-6 record on the year … Earned All-Region honors as a defensive lineman.

Eric Brewster (6-1, 276, DT, Atlanta, Ga./Grady) – Directed head coach Ronnie Millen's Grey Knights squad to a 10-2 record and a spot in the GHSA AAA quarterfinals … Earned All-Atlanta second team honors … Recorded 65 tackles, including 10 sacks and seven tackles for loss.

Jessie Burdick (5-11, 304, DT, Alma, Ga./Centennial) – Led the Knights to a 5-5 record in 2010 … Tallied 65 tackles on the season, including 10 tackles for loss and six sacks … Was named the team's defensive MVP while also earning first team All-Region honors … Led head coach Jeff Measor's squad to a 6-4 record and a showing in the GHSA AAAAA State Football Championships in 2009 … Tallied 50 tackles on the year, including eight tackles for loss and one sack.

Oniel Cohen (6-1, 222, DE, Ellenwood, Ga./Cedar Groves) – Led head coach Ray Bonner's club to an 8-5 record and the quarterfinals of the GHSA AAA state tournament … Tallied 115 tackles on the season … Also had 10 sacks on the year … Played in the DeKalb County All-Star game … Registered a 72 tackles, including team-best eight sacks, for the Saints in 2009.

Xavier Crane (6-1, 170, DB, Augusta, Ga./Grovetown) – Directed the Warriors to a 4-6 record in 2010 … Moved to safety after playing quarterback for head coach Rodney Holder in 2009 … Received Region 3AAA first team honors as an athlete.

Scott Crawford (6-5, 263, OL, Marietta, Ga./Kennesaw Mountain) – Graded out at 85 percent for head coach Chad McGhee … Tallied the most pancake blocks on the Mustang squad … Earned All-County honors while also participating in the All-Star Senior Bowl.

Ronald Eldell (6-1, 195, WR, Folkston, Ga./Charlton County) – Directed head coach Rich McWhorter's squad to a 9-3 record and a spot in the GHSA A Sweet 16 in 2010 … Earned All-Region honors as both a wide receiver and defensive back … For his career, caught 93 passes for 1,843 yards and 26 touchdowns.

Antonio Green (6-3, 252, OL, Dublin, Ga./West Laurens) – Directed the Raiders to a 5-5 record in 2010 while playing offensive guard … Earned All-Region honors at the conclusion of the season … Helped head coach Chad Simmons' squad to a 4-6 mark in 2009.

Earl Hammonds (6-0, 226, DE, Atlanta, Ga./Columbia) – Led head coach Mario Allen's Eagles to a 6-5 record in 2010 … Played in the DeKalb Senior All-Star game.

Darius Hawkins (6-1, 223, RB, Lithonia, Ga./Grady) – Played running back and kicker for head coach Ronnie Millen … Tallied over 600 yards rushing for the Grey Knights while helping the school to a 10-2 record and a spot in the GHSA AAA quarterfinals … Was named All-Atlanta as a place kicker while competing in the Fulton County versus Atlanta Public Schools All-Star game as a fullback.

Zay Howard (5-10, 185, WR, Suwanee, Ga./Collins Hill) – Earned honorable mention All-State honors while leading Collins Hill to a 10-4 record and a spot in the GHSA AAAAA State semifinals in 2010 … Caught 66 passes for 1,054 yards and nine touchdowns on the year … Played for head coach Kevin Reach.

Chris Howell (5-11, 240, OL, Cairo, Ga./Cairo) – Earned first team All-State while leading the Syrupmakers to a 12-1 record in 2010 … Also earned All-Region and All-Area honors while helping head coach Tom Fallow's squad to the GHSA AAA State quarterfinals … Led Cairo to a 9-4 record and the AAA state quarterfinals in 2009.

Tavoris Lewis (6-0, 188, DB, Hinesville, Ga./Liberty County) – Tallied 38 tackles for head coach Kirk Warner … Earned All-Region honors as a defensive back while also being named the team's best wide receiver … Broke up 10 passes while intercepting one more and forcing one fumble for Panthers … Caught 14 passes for 369 yards … Also lettered in basketball and track.

Riley Lindley (6-3, 248, DE, Atlanta, Ga./Therrell) – Played both defensive end and tight end for head coach Tony Rambo … Tallied 55 tackles for the Panthers while intercepting three passes, including one of which was returned for a touchdown … Earned second team All-City honors … Caught 10 passes for 215 yards … Also lettered in basketball and track.

Joseph Little (6-4, 195, QB, Ocala, Fla./Trinity Catholic) – Led the Celtics to a 14-0 record and the Florida Class 2B state championship in 2010 … Completed 8-of-15 passes for 179 yards and three touchdowns in the state championship game … Directed head coach John Brantley's offensive to 42.1 points per game on the season.

Camen Marshall (5-11, 175, CB, Grayson, Ga./Grayson) – Led the Rams to a 10-4 record and a spot in the GHSA Class AAAAA semifinals in 2010 … Recorded 24 tackles on the year, including two for loss … Also intercepted two passes … Directed Mickey Conn's squad to a 12-1 mark and the GHSA AAAAA quarterfinals in 2009.

Burt McKinsey (6-0, 270, OL, Cairo, Ga./Cairo) – Earned first team All-State while leading the Syrupmakers to a 12-1 record in 2010 … Also earned All-Region and All-Area honors while helping head coach Tom Fallow's squad to the GHSA AAA State quarterfinals … Led Cairo to a 9-4 record and the AAA state quarterfinals in 2009.

Derrick McQueen (6-3, 193, QB, Atlanta, Ga./Columbia) – Led head coach Mario Allen's Eagles to a 6-5 record in 2010 … Played in the DeKalb Senior All-Star game … Was named the 5AAA Offensive Player of the Year.

Charles Morton (5-10, 202, LS, Richmond Hill, Ga./Savannah Christian) – Led head coach Donald Chumley's squad to a 13-2 record and a spot in the GHSA A state championship game in 2010 … Played both long snapper and defensive end for the Raiders … Tallied 53 tackles, including 18 for loss and 10 sacks, while forcing three fumbles and recovering three in 2010 … Also led the Raiders to the GHSA A championship game in 2009 … Started all four years in high school, directing the team to a 47-7 record in those games … Twice earned All-Greater Savannah honors … Also competed in the 400 meter run in track and was named MVP of the school's track squad.

Phillip Moore (5-7, 170, RB, Valdosta, Ga./Valdosta) – Earned first team All-Region honors while leading the Wildcats to an 11-2 record and a spot in the GHSA AAAAA State quarterfinals … Led head coach Rance Gillespie's team with 1,182 yards rushing while scoring 13 touchdowns … Rushed for 563 yards and six score while directing Valdosta to a 74 mark as a junior.

Gary Myrick (6-5, 242, DE, Hudson, Fla./Hudson) – Tallied 64 tackles, including 11 sacks, for head coach Justin Fenton in 2010 … Also recorded on pass defended, three fumbles forced and two fumbles recovered while earning North Suncoast and District 8 first team honors … Also caught nine passes for 366 yards and four touchdowns while carrying the ball 18 times for 192 yards and two scores … Tallied 51 tackles, including 8.5 sacks, while leading the Cobras to a 9-2 record in 2009 … Broke up three passes while forcing one fumble and recovering two … Also served as the team's punter as a junior and averaged 42.8 yards per punt.

Cameron Olds (5-10, 170, CB, Lawrenceville, Ga./Central Gwinnett) – Led head coach Todd Wofford's club to a 4-6 record in 2010 … Recorded 64 tackles on the season while breaking up 11 passes and registering one fumble recovery.

Clifford Pettiford (6-0, 212, WR/LB, Adel, Ga./Cook County) – Directed head coach Ken Cofer's squad to a 12-1 record and a spot in the GHSA AA state quarterfinals … Caught 36 passes for 786 yards and 11 touchdowns … Earned All-State and All-Region honors for the Hornets.

Trey Register (5-11, 187, WR, Sparks, Ga./Cook County) – Led the Hornets to a 12-1 record and a showing in the GHSA AA state quarterfinals … Caught 48 passes for 650 yards while also carrying the ball 68 times for 511 yards for head coach Ken Cofer … Earned All-State and All-Region honors.

D'Amonte' Ridley (5-7, 160, RB, Moultrie, Ga./Colquitt County) – Led head coach Rush Propst's Packers to a 9-6 record and the GHSA AAAAA state championship game in 2010 … Carried the ball 168 times for 868 yards and seven touchdowns … Caught 21 passes for 134 yards … Earned Academic All-America honors in 2009 after leading Colquitt County to an 11-3 record and a spot in the state semifinals … Also lettered in basketball and track.

Chris Rhodes (6-2, 285, OT, Flowery Branch, Ga./Flowery Branch) – Earned first team All-Region and second team All-Area as a senior in 2010 … Led the Falcons to a 10-2 record and the round of 16 of the Georgia AAAA State Championship tournament … Recorded 22 pancake blocks and 23 knockdown blocks … Aided head coach Lee Shaw's team to a 10-4 record and the semifinals of the GHSA AAA State tournament in 2009 … Was named the Falcons' top offensive lineman in 2010.

Mantevius Rucker (6-1, 209, LB, Gainesville, Ga./Gainesville) – Led head coach Bruce Miller's squad to a10-2 record and a spot in the second round of the GHSA AAA state tournament in 2010 … Tallied 58 tackles and three sacks on the year while earning All-Region honors … Led the Red Elephants to the Region 8AAA title … Recored 41 tackles, including five sacks, while directing Gainesville to a 9-2 mark in 2009 … Also rushed for 2,131 yards.

Ryan Schraeder (6-7, 290, OT, Wichita, Kan./Butler CC) – Earned All-America honors while helping the Grizzlies to the NJCAA National Championship game … Directed an offensive line that helped Butler average 38.0 points and 373.9 yards (149.3 rushing, 224.6 passing) per game … Directed the Grizzlies to Jayhawk Conference and NJCAA Region VI championships while earning All-Jayhawk Conference honors.

Austin Scott (5-7, 169, WR, Columbus, Ga./Hardaway) – Led Hardaway to a 5-6 record and the first round of the GHSA AAAA playoffs … Played both wide receiver and defensive back for head coach Jeff Battles … Tallied 2,050 all-purpose yards, including 860 receiving, 790 rushing and 400 on return yardage … Was named the Region 1AAAA Offensive Player of the Year while also being named second team All-Region as a defensive back … Tallied 65 tackles, four interceptions and six passes broken up … Was first team All-Region as an athlete and second team as a wide receiver in 2009 while directing the Hawks to a 6-4 mark.

Chester Stone (5-10, 190, ATH, Wrens, Ga./Jefferson County) – Led head coach J. B. Arnold's squad to an 8-2-1 record and a spot in the GHSA AA state tournament … Threw for 1,084 yards and 12 touchdowns while running for 207 yards and four more scores, all while playing with a torn ACL … Earned All-Region honors as an athlete … Directed the Warriors to a 12-1 mark and the AA state tournament second round while earning All-Region honors as a wide receiver in 2009 … Completed 35 passes for 561 yards and six touchdowns while carrying the ball 33 times for 245 yards and six more scores … Also caught 22 passes for 360 yards and seven scores.

Austin Thompson (6-6, 290, OL, Dacula, Ga./Mills Creek) – Directed head coach Shannon Jarvis' squad to a 7-6 record and a spot in the GHSA AAAAA quarterfinals … Helped the Hawks average 53.0 points and 371.2 yards per game, including 199.7 rushing and 171.5 passing … Was selected to play in the Gwinnett All-Star game.

Justin Williams (6-0, 190, LB, Valdosta, Ga./Valdosta) – Starred for head coach Rance Gillespie and a Wildcat program that went 11-2 and advanced to the GHSA AAAAA quarterfinals in 2010 … Recorded 84 tackles, including 62 solos stops … Had 12 tackles for loss and forced two fumbles while recovering one … Broke up five passes while intercepting two more … Recorded two safeties and one defensive touchdown on the year.
