Birmingham, AL -- Valdosta State earned its second and third weekly honors of 2012. Alanna Hadley takes home her second Gulf South Conference Pitcher of the Week award while freshman Courtney Albritton earns her first GSC Player of the Week award.
The duo used a 6-0 week with wins over Miles, as well as conference foes West Alabama and West Florida to earn the conference awards.
Albritton leads Valdosta State in home runs so far this season and was second on the team in batting average for the week. She hit .609 with a .654 on-base percentage. Albritton led the team in runs scored with 11, and she also knocked in eight runs.
In six games played, Albritton tallied five multi-hit games. For the season, she is carrying a nine-game hitting streak. Hadley tallied three wins on the week to push her record to an impressive team leading 9-1.
