Birmingham, AL -- For the second consecutive week and third time this season, Alanna Hadley takes home the Gulf South Conference’s Pitcher of the Week award.
She is clearly the lead pitcher on Valdosta State’s staff and might be working her way to become the lead pitcher in the conference. In just one week, Hadley picked up three complete-game victories as well as two saves, a number that now leads the GSC.
In relief, she pitched 2 1/3 innings, only giving up one hit. As a starter, she pitched a pair of shutouts against West Georgia and North Alabama, striking out six in both games, before pitching a complete-game win at No. 10 Alabama-Huntsville for her 12th consecutive victory and the Lady Blazers’ 19th in a row.
Hadley is 12-1 on the season with a sizzling 0.72 earned run average while forcing opponents to hit just .180, all GSC-leading marks. She is third in the conference in strikeouts with 69.
Hadley will lead Valdosta State against regional foe Saint Leo at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the VSU Softball Complex.
