Valdosta, GA -- More individual accolades roll in as Valdosta State prepares to pursue team success against Florida Southern in the NCAA South Super Regional this weekend. Marti Littlefield and Morgan Johnson have been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America’s Academic All-District Team. The duo is eligible for Academic All-America later in the year.
Littlefield and Johnson are two of the most powerful offensive forces on the VSU squad. They were back-to-back Gulf South Conference Freshmen of the Year and both made the All-GSC First Team this season. Aside from their prowess on the field though, both student-athletes are diligent in the classroom.
Littlefield earned a 3.30 grade point average while majoring in exercise physiology while Johnson earned a 3.77 GPA in nursing. Littlefield and Johnson were two of just four softball players from the GSC to earn the honor.
The senior and junior have had a big week as they were integral parts of leading Valdosta State past Rollins and into the NCAA South Super Regional, and they were both named to the Daktronics All-South Region Team Tuesday as well.
Johnson and Littlefield will lead Valdosta State in the team’s quest to the NCAA Division II National Tournament when they face Florida Southern in the South Super Regional starting at 6 p.m. Friday.
