Valdosta, GA - In addition to sweeping Georgia Southwestern, Valdosta State also swept the Gulf South Conference’s Player of the Week awards.
Natalia Morozova and Holly Satterfield were named the GSC East’s Player and Pitcher of the Week.
Morozova earned the honor with an impressive performance against Georgian Court. She hit .800 on the week, including a perfect three for three performance against Georgian Court that included a double, a stolen base and five RBIs. Morozova finished slugging 1.000 on the week and an on base percentage of .800.
Satterfield only pitched one game on the week, but she made it count to earn her fourth GSC East Pitcher of the Week award of her career and first for this season. She only gave up one hit against Georgian Court in five innings of play. She struck out five and walked just two in a complete game resulting in a 10-5 win for VSU.
Look for the Blazers to continue to make a presence on the GSC East’s Player of the Week list.
