VALDOSTA, Ga. - A nationally televised game against Delta State highlights the Valdosta State men's basketball schedule released Wednesday.
The Blazers tip off the season Saturday, November 10 against Point University at The Complex at 8:00 p.m. and will play each of their first five games on their home court. The homestand includes the VSU Classic November 16 and 17 when VSU will face Carver and Florida Memorial as well as a contest against Albany State on November 20 and Lynn November 24.
Valdosta State hits the road for the first time November 29 when it faces off against one of the Gulf South Conference's newest teams in Union while also playing North Alabama in Florence, Ala. December 1. A home-and-home with Fort Valley State on December 4 and 11 follows while Coastal Georgia visits the Blazers' home floor on December 18 to close out the non-conference portion of the schedule.
VSU opens the new year with a pair of home Gulf South Conference games as Alabama-Huntsville visits on January 3 and Shorter comes to town on January 5 before embarking on a three-game, three-state road trip that features West Georgia, West Alabama and West Florida. Christian Brothers visits The Complex on January 24 before the Blazers close out the first round of conference play with a game that will be carried live by CBS College Sports. The nationally televised game against Delta State will come on Saturday, January 26 at 2:00 p.m.
The second half of the conference schedule begins with Union and North Alabama in Valdosta while West Georgia (Feb. 14), West Alabama (Feb. 17) and West Florida (Feb. 23) close out the home portion of the schedule.
The Gulf South Conference Tournament, which will be held on the campus of Samford University in Birmingham is slated to begin March 8 and run through Sunday, March 10.
