Associated Press Release
MIAMI (AP) -- Call it the case of the purloined parrot.
Police in Miami-Dade County are asking local residents to be on the lookout for a talking parrot that was recently stolen during a burglary.
Investigators said Friday the yellow, blue and green macaw was taken from the backyard of a home earlier this month. Surveillance video showed man and bird getting into a silver, four-door BMW with dark tinted windows. Video surveillance captured the crime but authorities haven't identified the perpetrator.
The bird's owner says it frequently mimics these names and Spanish words: "Jonathan, Alex, Elvira, Rodo, chaky, que paso papo, flaca, ladra and tose."
