Gina Pitisci is the weekday evening Anchor for Eyewitness News at 5:30 p.m. and Eyewitness News at 11:00 p.m. on WCTV. She joined the news team in January 2012 as the weekday morning Anchor for Daybreak and Co-Anchor on the Good Morning Show. Prior to working in Tallahassee, Gina worked for two years as the weekday Morning Anchor and Live at Lunch Anchor for WTVY in Dothan, Alabama. Gina also lived in Los Angeles, California, where she interned in the #2 news market at CBS2/KCAL9 Sports.
Gina has worked with a diverse population on local and nationally covered news stories and has interviewed celebrities, such as Will Smith, Rosario Dawson and Chaka Khan as well as professional athletes and community leaders. She has also brought a wealth of business experience to the news industry. Formerly, Gina was an Assistant Vice President for an International Real Estate Insurance company and prior to that worked for a major Hollywood talent agency, which represents screenwriters, directors and actors.
Gina was born in Miami Lakes, Florida and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Florida State University. While at FSU, she studied in London, England where she traveled throughout Europe and worked at a British film & television production company. Following graduation from FSU, Gina moved to Los Angeles, California and completed her Master of Arts Degree in Communication Management from the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Southern California.
Gina has been recognized for her professional work, receiving both the “Best News Anchor” award and the “Best Specialized Reporter” award from the Associated Press in her market in Alabama. She was also awarded the prestigious Douglas L. Cannon Broadcast Journalism Award for Excellence in Medical Reporting for her series on Cancer awareness and prevention and is the recipient of the 2013 Golden Ace Award for Journalism & Broadcasting.
In her spare time, Gina enjoys volunteering at animal rescue organizations, traveling, playing golf and tennis and is an avid college football fan. Her proud parents also live in Tallahassee, Florida.
