Lauren joined the Eyewitness News Team in July of 2014 as the weekend morning meteorologist.
Lauren originally hails from the mountains of upstate South Carolina. She came to Tallahassee in 2010, and graduated from Florida State University in May of 2014 with degrees in Meteorology and Media/Communication Studies. While at Florida State, Lauren was a recruiter for the University’s Honors Program and a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, as well as a fill-in meteorologist for the local ABC affiliate, WTXL. She was also a meteorologist and weather producer for the student-run weather show at FSU, “FSU Weather.” She is excited to be staying in Tallahassee and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in meteorology at Florida State.
Lauren’s main interest is anything weather, especially tropical weather, which she specialized in while at FSU and continues to research. She is active in the local chapters of the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association, and is spearheading a national mentoring effort for young meteorologists and physical scientists in the National Weather Association. Other hobbies include running, cooking, reading, and cheering on the Noles and the Green Bay Packers!
Most of all, Lauren loves being outside, even in the hot Florida summer weather! If you have cool weather pictures or stories or just want to say hello, she would love to hear from you at firstname.lastname@example.org.
