Starting on Friday, October 16, get a sneak peek into the future of robots. “Robots 3D” is a fascinating and fun look at what makes us human, how far machines can really go to look and act like us, and how humanoids are already changing our world.
Today's robots are nothing short of astonishing. Those coming in the not-too-distant future are simply revolutionary—and they are becoming eerily like us.
What does it take to make a humanoid robot—a robot that can do anything we can do without the benefit of a human brain? How close are scientists to replicating some of the particularly challenging human characteristics? (Think fingers and toes.) These questions and more are answered as robot “actor” RoboThespian takes audiences on an amazing tour of what’s going on in robotics labs around the world.

‘On Golden Pond’ Play in Cairo

Event Dates and Times

Zebulon Theatre 207 N Broad St Cairo, GA 39828
The Syrup City Players will open their 2014 Season with Ernest Thompson’s ‘On Golden Pond’, directed by Jeff Lovett, on Friday-Sunday, March 28-30th at the Zebulon Theater in Downtown Cairo. This is one of the funniest and most heartwarming plays to ever take the stage. The play was also made into a very popular movie in 1981 which won Academy Awards for Henry Fonda and Katherine Fonda. ‘On Golden Pond’ begins with the arrival of an old, long-married couple to their lakeside cottage where they have summered for 44 years. They are estranged from their only daughter, Chelsea, who comes to the cottage to celebrate her father’s 80th birthday. Chelsea announces that she and her new boyfriend are taking a trip to Europe and ask the old couple to watch the man’s teenaged son why they are gone. Ethel and Norman agree and the experience teaches the old man how to trust and communicate with his daughter. ‘On Golden Pond’ will be presented on Friday, March 28th and Saturday, March 29th at 7:30pm and on Sunday, March 30th at 2:30pm. Advanced tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for Seniors/Students and are on sale at Miss Myrts and Center Drugs in Cairo. All tickets at the door will be $12.
