3rd Annual Measles Initiative Banquet

Date(s): 4/23/2015

7:00pm

American Red Cross Capital Area Chapter 1115 Easterwood Drive Tallahassee FL, 32311
We will be hosting a Southern Beau Date Auction and Dinner, where eligible bachelorettes will be bidding on a date with our local men to fundraise for the Measles Initiative. The Measles and Rubella Initiative is a program led by the American Red Cross, the United Nations and World Health Organization with a goal of vaccinating children abroad in lesser developed countries from these diseases. Nearly 400 children still die per day due to measles-related complications. This is an even more frustrating statistic to face when it only costs $1 to vaccinate a child.
To help support the American Red Cross combat this disease we ask you to come out for some good ole’ fashioned BBQ and country music at the local ARC chapter. To go along with the southern theme we are suggesting upscale country attire (yes, cowboy boots and Stetsons are encouraged)! Ticket prices are $15 for general admission, $40 for four general admissions, and $8 for students. Please call (850)-878-6080 to reserve your seat today!
Remember it takes less than $1 to save a child’s life from this horrible disease.

For the first time in movie history, audiences will truly see and feel what it was like when dinosaurs ruled the Earth.

Recent discoveries and a breakthrough in technology will introduce new and unique dinosaurs that are more real than ever before and put moviegoers in the middle of a thrilling prehistoric adventure, where an underdog dinosaur triumphs against all odds to become a hero for the ages.

Our main characters are a herd of large, frilled, plant eating dinosaurs – Pachyrhinosaurus. The film follows their youngsters through the seasons and the challenges of growing up and establishing themselves in this prehistoric world. From the moment they hatch, they face predators, extremes of weather and natural disaster as they fight for survival.
Walking with Dinosaurs: Prehistoric Planet 3D is an immersive 3D experience – the characters are animated throughout against real backgrounds. It’s the most authentic dinosaur experience ever to be seen on the giant screen. The animals’ bodies and movements have been precisely built up from fossil evidence and their behavior is derived from both paleontology and detailed knowledge of the behavior of modern animals. Even their body language has been inspired by what we know of real animal behavior and gives these creatures an amazing realism.
