Challenger Learning Center IMAX Theatre / 200 South Duval Street, 32301
Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman narrates the IMAX 3D documentary "Island Of Lemurs: Madagascar, " the incredible true story of nature's greatest explorers--lemurs.
The film reunites Freeman with Drew Fellman, who also wrote and produced the 2011 IMAX 3D documentary "Born To Be Wild 3D," and director/cinematographer David Douglas, who was the director of photography on that film.
Captured with IMAX 3D cameras, the film takes audiences on a spectacular journey to the remote and wondrous world of Madagascar, where lemurs arrived millions of years ago as castaways. They have since evolved into hundreds of diverse species, but are now highly endangered. "Island Of Lemurs: Madagascar" highlights the tireless efforts of trailblazing scientist Dr. Patricia C. Wright and her lifelong mission to help these strange and adorable creatures survive in the modern world.
“Island of Lemurs: Madagascar 3D” will be in the library of the Challenger Learning Center IMAX Theatre through April 2015.

‘On Golden Pond’ Play in Cairo

March 28th & 29th at 7:30 p.m. March 30th at 2:30 p.m.

Zebulon Theatre 207 N Broad St Cairo, GA 39828
The Syrup City Players will open their 2014 Season with Ernest Thompson’s ‘On Golden Pond’, directed by Jeff Lovett, on Friday-Sunday, March 28-30th at the Zebulon Theater in Downtown Cairo. This is one of the funniest and most heartwarming plays to ever take the stage. The play was also made into a very popular movie in 1981 which won Academy Awards for Henry Fonda and Katherine Fonda. ‘On Golden Pond’ begins with the arrival of an old, long-married couple to their lakeside cottage where they have summered for 44 years. They are estranged from their only daughter, Chelsea, who comes to the cottage to celebrate her father’s 80th birthday. Chelsea announces that she and her new boyfriend are taking a trip to Europe and ask the old couple to watch the man’s teenaged son why they are gone. Ethel and Norman agree and the experience teaches the old man how to trust and communicate with his daughter. ‘On Golden Pond’ will be presented on Friday, March 28th and Saturday, March 29th at 7:30pm and on Sunday, March 30th at 2:30pm. Advanced tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for Seniors/Students and are on sale at Miss Myrts and Center Drugs in Cairo. All tickets at the door will be $12.
