"Oh, Come Let Us Adore Him" Nativity Creche Open House Exhibit

The “Oh, Come Let Us Adore Him!” Nativity Crèche Open House Exhibit will feature a variety of nativity exhibits for all ages, including young children. The event is free to the public and all are welcome. It promises to be an incredible event with over 100 exhibits including nativities from exotic locations. Many of the Ward members and others from the community have volunteered to display their treasures, including handmade pieces of art, for this special occasion.
On Sunday evening, the event will conclude with a special Christmas program broadcast from Salt Lake City that will feature music presented by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The broadcast will begin at 8:00 p.m.

The Lights of River Oaks
The annual Lights of River Oaks display in the River Oaks subdivision in Bainbridge, GA is scheduled to begin on Thanksgiving night, Nov. 28, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. We will have the lights on normally until 11:00 p.m. through the day of Epiphany, January 6, 2014 (except in extreme weather conditions). Make plans to continue a tradition (or begin a new one) to visit our light display. There are over 65,000 lights, music, and a variety of scenes to make anyone smile. Coming to the Museum of Florida History 11/14/13–2/23/14 in downtown Tallahassee.
Imagining La Florida: Ponce de León and the Quest for the Fountain of Youth is an interactive exhibit that uses models, tablet computers, and immersive elements to explore Florida history from the preparation of Juan Ponce de León’s voyage from Spain to the establishment of Fort Mose in 1739. Organized by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) of Spain and the Spain-Florida Foundation 500 Years, and curated by Dr. J. Michael Francis, the exhibit is a collaboration of the Spanish Embassy in Washington D.C., and the Spanish Consulate in Miami.

Choosing to Participate

The Florida Historic Capitol Museum
The Florida Historic Capitol Museum welcomes a new temporary exhibition to be on display August 27th, 2013 through August 10th, 2014. The exhibit, Choosing To Participate, highlights stories of community activists whose local impact has lead to larger national awareness about the importance of equality in civic communities.
Choosing To Participate was developed through the partnership of Facing History and Ourselves and the Smithsonian Institute Travel Exhibition Service. The exhibit features 11 posters that explore the impact civic engagement and illustrate the power individuals can have in enacting wider social change through four key points of individual action: Choose Dialogue, Choose Respect, Choose Engagement, and Choose to Participate.
The exhibit will also feature several other civic organizations in the State of Florida that focus on civic education and providing students with opportunities to be active participants in the civic communities of Florida.

From 1989 to 1994, Art in Gadsden developed the foundation for the Gadsden Arts Center as a way to bring fine art to the county, foster the careers of local artists. and draw the community together.
