In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Florida State University art history professor Diantha Steinhilper discusses Casta paintings at 7:00 p.m. These 18th-century works often depict multiracial families in the colonial Americas and offer insight into the development of diverse populations in Latin America. Learn about these unique works and how their subject matter impacted Florida.
At 5:00 p.m., Tallahassee resident Sergio Jordan performs traditional Mexican folksongs.
3rd Thursday offers a monthly opportunity to visit the Museum of Florida History in the evening. The program, music, and parking are free. In September, Los Amigos caters for $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers.
