NRA Basic Shotgun Shooting Course - Youth

Camp Pineywoods, US Hwy 84 Bypass, Thomasville, GA
This course is at least 10 hours long and includes classroom and range time learning how to shoot shotguns at moving targets. Students
learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; shotgun parts and operation; shotgun shell components; shotgun shell malfunctions; shooting
fundamentals; range rules; shooting at straight away and angled targets; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development.
Students will receive the Basics of Shotgun Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship
Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Shotgun Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate.
This course is being offered at this super low price for Boy Scouts (age 11 to 18), Girl Scouts (age 14 to 18), Thomas County 4-H members
(age 11 to 18), and Thomasville YMCA youth members (age 11 to 18). Youth between the ages of 11 and 18 who are not currently a member
of one of these organizations may participate if they also join a member organization. The course will begin with a 2-hour safety and basic
knowledge session in the Camp Pineywoods Activity Building on Thursday evening (6:30 - 8:30 PM), and the rest of the training will take
place the following Saturday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) at the Camp Pineywoods range.
