Schumann - Cello Concerto in A minor, Op. 129

Schumann’s Cello Concerto and Mendelssohn’s “Scottish Symphony” are the two great, romantic jewels presented on this concert. Internationally celebrated cellist Colin Carr will join the TSO in a performance of this expressive and sublime work. Mendelssohn penned his “Scottish” Symphony, widely considered his finest, after a visit to the ruined Holyrood Chapel in Edinburgh. The TSO welcomes guest conductor David Danzmayr, currently Music Director of the Illinois Philharmonic and ProMusica Chamber Orchestra.
Romantic Jewels is generously sponsored by Farmers & Merchants Bank and Larry and Hilda Strom.
