"Footsteps to Freedom" Viewing at City Hall
City Hall Commission Chambers, 300 South Adams Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32301
The City of Tallahassee will be presenting the one-hour documentary "Footsteps to Freedom" this Friday in the City Hall Commission Chambers. In anticipation for Black History month and continuing to commemorate these Civil Right Activists, this documentary will show the experiences of foot soldiers to recall the memories they had during the Civil Rights Movements in Tallahassee. Rev. Henry Steele, Vince Larkins, Priscilla Stephens Kruize, and the late Morris Thomas are some who will be featured in the video. This public event was requested by the attendees of the unveiling of the Heritage Walk on Sept. 30, 2013 which the video will show the making, installation and unveiling of the sidewalk. The Executive Director from the Riley Museum Ms. Barnes was an intricate part of the Heritage Walk as well as the documentary. In addition, the Applause for the Pioneers Gala honoree was one of these inspirational foot soldiers of the time. Thus, we ask for all to participate and join in the viewing at City Hall.
