Playboy of the Western World

Jun 29, 2012 - Jul 8, 2012 8pm, Sunday matinees 2pm

Coffeehouse at Tallahassee Little Theatre 1861 Thomasville Road
The play is about Christy Mahon, who earns the moniker “Playboy,” for his gift of telling tales as only the Irish can. This tale may be true however, as mystery and comedy intertwines in a most engaging play. Full of lively dialogue laced with exaggerations as heard on the wild Western shores of County Mayo, the audience may understand why there was a riot the first time it was performed.
Playboy is directed by Lanny Thomas, who claims a piece of the olde sod himself and stars the IRT Company, along with well-known young actor, Colin Wulff, home for the summer, female leads Laura Johnson and Julia Draper. Heather Brown has the tart-tongued Widow Quinn down pat.
