Schoenberg: Three Movements from American Symphony
Brahms: Concerto for Violin and Cello, Op. 102 in A Minor
Prokofiev: Selections from Romeo and Juliet Suites 1 & 2

This program, conducted by Jacomo Bairos, highlights themes of love and admiration. Brahms nurtured a lifelong friendship with the great violinist Joseph Joachim and wrote many works for him, including the unprecedented 'Double Concerto,' which is not only a meaningful dialogue between two friends (violin and cello), but a true collaboration of soloists and orchestra. Prokofiev's famous Romeo and Juliet Suites borrow from his own ballet score, which vividly depicts the story of the star-crossed lovers. Mutual Admiration is generously sponsored by Farmers and Merchants Bank.
