America's Sunday Supper/ MLK Day of Service

Jan 20, 2013 January 20, 2013

Delta Kappa Omega/Providence Community Service Center
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated has partnered with the Hands On Network, an intermediary grantee of the Corporation for National & Community Service, for the 2013 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service projects. The sorority’s signature event will be the America’s Sunday Supper.

Delta Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s national and local commitment to community service via outreach to the families of the Providence Neighborhood, is partnering with various businesses and organizations in sponsoring an American Sunday Supper event on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Delta Kappa Omega/Providence Community Service Center located on 1908 Highland Street. On Monday, January 21, 2013, the ladies of Delta Kappa Omega will be creating care packages for our Tallahassee and surrounding area active duty military personnel.
We are motivated by our shared belief with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?” During the 2013 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, we are reaching out to our veterans as well as currently enlisted individuals in the military, veteran families, and participants in the ROTC and National Guard to thank them for serving our country and to provide information on employment and economic improvement of veterans.

Please join us for a roundtable discussion and dinner at 3:00 pm. The event is open to the public.
