Train to Save a Life:Learn CPR

Feb 26, 2013 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center
Join Leon County EMS at the Tallahassee Fitness Festival for CPR training.

If your loved one collapsed, would you know what to do? Each year in the United States EMS treats nearly 300,000 people who suffer sudden cardiac arrest at home, at work, or in public locations. Providing CPR and an AED (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillator) to an adult who has collapsed from cardiac arrest can more than double that person’s chance of survival.

In Leon County, only 20% of cardiac arrest victims receive CPR from bystanders prior to EMS arrival. That’s only one in five people. Without immediate, effective CPR from a bystander, a person’s chance of surviving sudden cardiac arrest decreases up to 10 percent per minute. Leon County EMS needs your help to improve survival from sudden cardiac arrest in our area.

On Saturday, January 26, from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at the Tallahassee Fitness Festival, Leon County EMS is going to train you to save a life. Please join EMS for a fun, hands-on, educational event were you will learn the life saving skills of CPR and AED use. Train a life to save a life!
