Father of American Opera, Carlisle Floyd, Holds Book Signing In the Gardens of LeMoyne

LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts will be hosting a book signing for Tallahassee’s own Carlisle Floyd, on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at LeMoyne from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Held in the gardens of LeMoyne, there will be culinary delights, edible art, and a table where Carlisle Floyd and his biographer, Thomas Holliday, will sign books. Attendees will not only have the opportunity to hear pieces of Floyd’s music and listen to passages from the book, they will also have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with Floyd, discussing his book, his music and his upcoming opera at Florida State University.

This book signing event is being held in conjunction with the performance of Floyd’s most recent opera, Cold Sassy Tree, at Florida State University April 5-7, 2013, at Ruby Diamond Auditorium.
