Easter Walkabout

Mar 28, 2013 - Mar 30, 2013 7-9 pm

3210 Thomasville Rd., Tallahassee
For Immediate Release

The annual “Easter Walkabout” presentation of the life of Jesus Christ will be held Wednesday, March 27 through Saturday, March 30 at Piedmont Park Alliance Church on Thomasville Road.
Now in its fourteenth year, the presentation has attracted thousands of people over the years to view seven scenes of the life of Jesus re-enacted by church members. Some people have said it has become an Easter tradition for their families to attend.
The free presentation is offered on the four nights just prior to Easter Sunday. Groups of about 15 people are escorted through about every twenty minutes from 7 to 9 p.m. each evening. The presentation will be given at Piedmont Park Alliance Church, 3210 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee (across from Oven Park). On-site parking is available and the presentation area is wheelchair accessible.
This unique outdoor drama presents the three years of Jesus’ ministry in just 30 minutes. Scenes include Jesus with young children, Jesus raising a young child from death, Jesus in the Upper Room with His disciples, Jesus and disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus before Pilate, Jesus on the Cross, and Jesus arising from the tomb. Visitors literally walk through the scenes on an elevated walkway and even interact with the presenters.
Under co-directors Marsha Adams and Beth Christian, the program involves about 80 members and supporters of the church.
Long-time cast member Rose Oliver has served as a visitor guide for many years. She said, “Being a guide in the Easter Walkabout gives us the advantage of seeing the guests before, during and after they experience the Walkabout. Most guests are truly touched & blessed. The expressions on their faces and sometimes the tears are what it is all about. We know that God has touched their hearts!”
