Motivating Minds at the Museum

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Monday, March 25, 2013, is Teacher Planning Day for Leon County Public Schools. Students, parents and members of the community are invited to come enjoy a day of educational excitement in a safe and positive learning environment. The Carrie Meek-James Eaton Black Archives/Museum will sponsor a stimulating day of interactive educational activities called “Motivating Minds at the Museum.” This event is geared towards youth in grades 4-12 and is free and open to the public. All activities will be facilitated by Black Archives staff members and Florida A&M University (FAMU) students. Walking tours of the historic FAMU campus and guided tours of the museum will also be available.
These educational, cultural and recreational activities are designed to boost critical thinking, promote active learning and enhance team-building. All students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Activities will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. Space is limited. Groups and organizations are strongly encouraged to call to RSVP.
