County Commission, At-Large (Group 2)

Leon County is a great place to live! We enjoy a wonderful quality of life, healthy neighborhoods, a clean environment and a strong economy.
I’ve raised three children here and now, I have a six-year-old grandson, Waylon.
I’m fighting for a future where he’ll enjoy clean air and water and have an opportunity for a prosperous life.
Today, special interests threaten our quality of life. They want a County Commission that will “rubber stamp” unchecked growth and unbridled development.
They want taxpayers to pick up the ever-increasing burden of new development on our infrastructure.
I’m a fighter and I have the courage to stand up for our community — Leon County is not for sale.
I’ve fought to protect the quality of our water. I’ve built coalitions to move our community forward, and I’ve balanced the interests of neighborhoods, the environment and our business community.
During my tenure on the County Commission we:
- Ended conflict with city government;
- Instituted tough ethics rules;
- Developed a plan for affordable health care for our neighbors without insurance;
- Initiated a joint communications dispatch system and started a first-rate ambulance service;
- Acquired land for greenways, built parks, libraries and community centers.
It’s been my pleasure to serve you for 12 years. I’m grateful for your support and confidence.
I love my job and know what it means to be a public servant. I’d appreciate your vote on September 5th.
