NOAA's Official Winter Forecast

By: Meteorologist Ray Hawthorne Email
Updated: Tue 5:16 PM, Oct 16, 2007

Warmer-than-average conditions are forecast over much of the United States, including Florida and Georgia. A La Nina in the Pacific Ocean is expected to favor a continuation of the dry weather in the drought-stricken Southeastern United States. Level 4 (or extreme) drought conditions have been declared by the U.S. Department of Agriculture over much of western and northern Georgia. Some relief from the drought might occur farther north in the Tennessee Valley.
