The center of Tropical Storm Noel is expected to pass just a little to the east of Florida Wednesday and Thursday.
It could bring much-needed rains to South Florida. Lake Okeechobee's water level is still running about 5 feet below normal for this time of year. This could make water shortages more likely according to the South Florida Water Management District. Despite Noel's potential benefits to Florida, the storm is responsible for 20 deaths in the Caribbean, and is expected to dump up to 15 inches of rain.
