We might think the Mighty Mouse is a fictional cartoon character, but not anymore.
Scientists at Case Western Reserve University have successfully bred a line of mighty mice that are capable of running faster, breeding later in life than usual, and living longer. These genetically-altered creatures are seven times more active and much more aggressive than regular mice.
The scientists said these genetic modifications are not appropriate for humans since they raise ethical concerns. However, the research could provide insight on how diet and exercise affects the development of cancer in the animal.
